the Prague Spring Competition prize-giving ceremony
The 31st Prague Spring International Music Competition officially came to a close on 15 May with the prize-giving ceremony in Brožík Hall at the Town Hall of the Old Town.
The First Prize winner in the flute competition is Denis Bouriakov of Russia. Second Prize went to Timea Acsai of Hungary, and Third Prize was awarded to Júlie Somogyi, also of Hungary.
Amongst the bassoonists, First Prize went to Václav Vonášek, surpassing his own success at the 2002 Competition, where he received Second Prize. This year Second Prize went to Philipp Zeller of Germany, and Third Prize was awarded to Zeynep Köylüoglu of Turkey. Our congratulations to all the winners!
