Photographs from the Martinů evening
This year’s Festival season marking the fortieth anniversary of Bohuslav Martinů’s death would have been incomplete without the Bohuslav Martinů Philharmonic of Zlín. Led by its former chief conductor, Jakub Hrůša, the orchestra, with the violinists Bohuslav Matoušek and Régis Pasquier, performed Martinů’s lively Duo Concertante for two violins and orchestra.
The evening also included Zdeněk Zouhar’s pure lyrical composition ‘Variations on a Theme by Bohuslav Martinů’. Zouhar, a close friend of Martinů’s, was present at the performance.
