JORDI SAVALL is one of the leading personalities in the world of early music. For more than thirty years he has been devoted to the rediscovery of neglected musical treasures both as a performer on the viola da gamba and as a music director. Together with Montserrat Figueras he founded the ensembles Hespèrion XX, La Capella Reial and Le Concert des Nations, with which they have performed at the Prague Spring 2007 with huge success.
His concert, teaching and research activities have led to many musical projects, many of which have had a broader cultural scope. His collaboration on Alain Corneau’s film Tous les Matins du Monde (All the Mornings of the World) helped create a broader public for the viola da gamba.
