Also coming to Prague to commemorate the Martinů jubilee is the famed „kammerorchesterbasel“. The ensemble’s founder and conductor Paul Sacher was for many years a friend and benefactor of the Czech composer Bohuslav. It was Sacher who suggested that Martinů compose the Toccata e Due Canzoni heard on this programme.
