The outstanding Czech guitarist Pavel Steidl, who, after winning the 1982 Concours International de la Guitare de la Radio Nationale, in Paris, chose to defect to the West. Now, in a belated Prague Spring début, he will perform compositions by ‘the prince of lutenists’ Johann Anton Losy von Losinthal and a real prince, Philip Hyacinth Lobkowicz, together with virtuoso compositions by Nicolò Paganini, the Brazilian composer Heitor Villa-Lobos, and works of his own.
