An authentic interpretation, in the true sense of the word, of rarely performed works of Bohuslav Martinů and his only Czech pupil Jan Novák will be presented to us by Novák’s daughter, the Spanish-based flutist Clara Novakova, together with one of the most important oboists in the world, Maurice Bourgue, who is, among other things, the winner of the 1968 Prague Spring International Music Competition. This exceptional evening will end with Haydn’s famous Symphony No. 94 in G Major (nicknamed the Surprise Symphony or the Drumstroke Symphony).
